Have a recently built OB-5 for sale. It has the latest updated cross over. Asking for $800.00, Local sale only, please.
I'm moving by the 3rd week of Jan and am looking to sell it before then. I've no moving boxes, so only local sale (Dallas, TX).
They sound wonderful, like any one who has heard them can attest. There are several pages of OB-5 reviews on the GR research forum, and i have absolutely no reason to counter them. The imaging, transparency, and soundstaging are top notch!

Awesome work, Danny!
The problem is with the veneering (as usual). I used beeswing walnut veneer, and it looked wonderful initially. I had intended to finish it using waterlox tung oil finish. But for some reason, i had this bright idea of using shellac as a sealer, and then apply waterlox. I should've tested on an inconspicuous part first, but didn't.

I expected the shellac to bring out more grain, but in turn what happened was that it obscured most of the grain. Instead of the wonderful wavy figured walnut, i have an almost chocolate colored veneer on a pair of speakers that are to be in my living room. Also there are some minor veneer splits along the seams. So I decided to sell this, and try building another one. Structurally, they are perfect. The cabinet is lined with OC 703 fiberglass, and the front baffle is 1.5" thick right through.
I'm moving to another apartment by the 3rd week of this month. So am looking to sell it before then and avoid trouble of moving it. For the cost of the kit, you are getting the cabinets free.
