Bybee Power Bar question
« on: 26 Sep 2003, 03:39 am »
I'm pretty intrigued by what everyone's been saying about their BPB's, but can they be used in conjunction with a surge surpressor?  I'd like to try the power bar, but I'm leery of giving up the regular protection features.  Would it defeat the purpose to plug the power bar into some type of surge protector?

Rob,

Most surge suppresion will clamp down hard on any peaks. This includes high current draw as a normal part the musical signal.

I do have some of the Panasonic "ZNR" series transient/surge absorbers that can be built into the power bar for the truly paranoid

THe power bar does have a 15 amp circuit breaker already which will trip if a large surge comes through.
