As M. Jagger once sang, "Please allow me to introduce myself"... so here I am Transported in a very real sense.
Not exactly the devil, mind you, but a bit of an audio fiend with a long and pointed tail nonetheless.
Thanks to the low level internet buzz and this forum in general, (and to the patient responses to my never ending questions to Dan and David [rydenfan] in particular), I have today pulled the trigger on ordering my MW TP.
OK, so the migration from traditional rotating media to this new high holy ground of audio nirvana, for me, is about to begin. Being a somewhat computer literate noob with an ever evolving sense of self respect and decorum, I have already availed myself of x,000 assorted Google searches and somewhat fewer downloads of software designed to help me convert my media into lossless computer files. I have actually got some of this stuff, however unpredictably, to work. Trouble is I haven't yet arrived at the best strategy with which to assign nomenclature for these files for consistent retrieval that is logical and convenient. Anyone here with advice as to how best to order the config of EAC, dbPowerAmp, et.al., from the git go for access that is so intuitively consistent my wife can do it? Also, is anyone in these parts yet availed themselves of the Duet Controller for use with the TP? Opinions?
Fair warning: once these mysteries are revealed I'll likely next start in with tube questions. 5U4G, GZ32, 6H30... sheesh.
Thanks for compassion and your kind responses,
Nick
