Replace Odyssey Stratos with which multi-channel amp?

All,

I am currently running a 2 ch Odyssey Stratos coupled with a 5 channel (85 watt) Carver AV-505 for center, sub, & surround duties. The Carver needs to be upgraded to keep up with the Odyssey. I would love to keep the Stratos, but also would like to consolidate to one amp. I know of the compromises with multichannel amps vs. dedicated 2 ch. amps, but this is a need to at least match the center with the front 2 channels. Klaus, if you are listening, where is the 5 channel Stratos?? I dont have the room to stack 2 large amps, so a 2 ch. + 3 ch. + a amp for the sub.

If I choose this route, which multi-channel amp would have as good as performance as the Odyssey?

Please note that I will need at least 6 ch. of amplification ans my sub is passive.

Right now the Theta Dreadnaughts can be had reasonably on the used market. They sound real nice too. I'd struggle between that, and the Plinius Odeon.

Well, I was going to suggest looking at a Theta, but somebody beat me to it.

Best thing is that it can be configured for 2-10 channels of amplification. When I get the $ available, I might try to find a used 7 channel Theta as that's what I'd need.

While I'm sure that there are many mult-channel amps that sound very good I will say this, every time I've had to (or thought I had to) make a choice or comprimise between two channel and home theater, two channel has suffered and I've ended up going back and NEEDING to improve the two channel side.

So I ordered a Citation 5.1, 4 chanel amp to mate with my Stratos. Anyone listen to a Citation & have impressions on the sond? How do you think it will mate with the Stratos?
