Update-I ended up getting a Stello DA220 MKII and am very happy with it. The Lavry is a great DAC, but in my system the Stello was the winner. Better bass, soundstaging, and PRAT.

I had a Lavry too, which is very musical.. I replaced it with a Stello DA100 Signature and noticed more dynamics, mid-detail, better bass and PRAT, similar to santas impressions. A much larger soundstage also, I think that it one of the major differences between NOS DACs and upsampling DACs.

Ah, dynamics.....that's right, that was one of the biggest differences, I forgot about that. Once I heard the difference I could never go back to the Lavry no matter how good it sounded, and it did sound good, until I heard better. So far my Stello is doing everything a bit better. For now, it's a keeper, of course I'm still looking........

True, I am eyeing up the new Bryston DAC. I want to hear it first.
