wind chaser:
you got a sound head on your shoulders, dont ever believe anyone stating that their products are superior to everything else, sptech as good as they are, isnt either, alone the fact that sound preference is highly subjektive makes the statement loose a whole lot of validity.
I myself dosnt own any of their products, one reason is that when i had the timepiece 2 it kindda sucked the fun out of my music, though it is by far the best speaker I have ever heard, with the exeption of revalation, and its potential is mindstaggering, it was simply too hard to pair with cables, equipment and recordings.
sptech speakers are the only ones i have ever heard, witch is able to produce realistic sub 100hz output, that combined with the dynamic, imaging and overall realism it truly is in a league of its own.
with the 3.0 version out ill try to give em another try, but i wont go down the same road again, constantly switching gear in order to get a sound i can live with for all my music.
if its only 5% of your recordings that sound like heaven, and the rest is crap, something is wrong, and even though it isnt the speakers fault, they are still at the core of the problem.
to make it short, I agree, sptech is the best speakers at the market today, its not even close, and price is completely irelative, but due to problems with the overall standard of recordings and hifi gear, its far from an easy speaker to work with, and there isnt any guarantee that the standard hifi enthusiasts will ever be happy with a pair of speakers this transparent.
it is so much easier to buy a good colored speaker witch is no where near realistic, but got a smooth sound, and enjoy all your music and never hear what your associated gear sounds like.
