CLS-9 (Custom LS-9) Announcement:
Custom Concepts, Response Audio and JAM’n Audio have teamed up to bring customers a no compromise version of the GR Research designed LS-9.
Custom Concepts will be producing the enclosures and doing final assembly of the speakers using the most advanced custom panel processing and finishing methods available. All parts will be machined on their in-house CNC machine.
Response Audio is producing the external crossovers for the CLS-9. The sonic signature of the crossover is influenced by the use of some of the most highly regarded passive components currently available in the industry. The use of Mundorf Silver/Gold and reference grade Teflon capacitors, Mundorf and Goertz foil inductors and Mills non-inductive resistors is just part of what makes up this very special crossover network.
Each crossover assembly maintains the same topology and circuit designed by Danny Richie of GR Research and is matched within 1% of each other. Our crossovers are point to point wired ensuring the simplest and least intrusive signal path. A custom external crossover enclosure houses the crossover and resides between the speaker and amplifier in the circuit path. The link between the crossover and speakers is made via four custom umbilical cords utilizing high purity Continuous Cast Copper wire and connection to the speaker and crossovers utilizes professional grade speak-on connectors. Bybee purifiers in this link are available as an additional option.
The passive bass management is handled by a series of switches accessible by the user allowing you to tailor the bass output curve to your specific room in real time.
Each crossover is inserted into a CLS-9 test system and auditioned at Response Audio prior to shipment.

Prices for solid color and veneer versions with the external EXO crossover will be $12,999.00 US through mid-year 2008 not including shipping (some veneers, finishes and optional crossover components will incur additional cost). All finishes will be in piano gloss.
A detailed list of all the custom features that make the CLS-9 a world class speaker will be released in January.
Production has already commenced, and orders will be taken for the next run after the New Year as we tool up to increase production.
