Simple DEQX question....?
« on: 16 Nov 2007, 06:07 am »
DEQX  requires  a a  separate amp  for  each driver... does this mean I need mono blocks , or  can I use a  stereo  amp for the mids ,  stereo  amp for  twin subs  etc?

(sorry...   i know this  sounds  like a  dumb  question  that I should have  been  able to figure out for myself!)

Stereo amps will work fine.   :thumb:

You can even use a 6 channel amp, or two 3 channel amps, or 1 4 channel amp plus a stereo amp....you get the picture.

one more thing - if you have, say, a three-way speaker, & it's only single-wire capable, you will only need one stereo amp, & the deqx will still work w/it.  you yust won't be using its x-over capability, only its eq capability will be used.

okay...cleared that up.  Thank you guys... I shall continue my  search for that elusive  secondhand  unit which  someone is willing to ship (back) to the  other  side  of the world!   :)
