Below is the new look for the Apex III

In the Apex II is the new SDX7 woofer from CSS(more info on this driver in the coming weeks)

Here is a little taste of the over all look of the new driver.

For those who ever got a chance to listen to the Apex II with the old Extremis will be shocked at the out put of these new woofers.
They play lower, yes the NEW Apex III dropped a few hz on the tuning. aa As well the drivers are a lot cleaner and a more detailed bottom end due to the cone one these new drivers.

Over all really happy with the new woofers, and they are just that woofers not midrange drivers but a woofer.

As well on the Apex III we have the EnAbl process applied to the mid range drivers

QTS  .35
Mms 21.91
Vas 23.77

Dimensions 173mm

Carbon Fiber cone with a copper phase plug, rubber surround
New venting XBL^2 neo motor design.

These are just the first data, do not take these as published specs but they will give you an idea. We are getting a few people to do some tests as well as specs for us at this time.

We had some sent by air and the rest is in transit and will be here in the next week.

So far this driver is a drop in for our designs were the Extremis was used in a 3 way. This is all due to our crossover points we use in the designs.
Only issue is the frame on this new SDX7 driver is a little smaller than the Extremis.

If they sound as good as they look should be some fine speakers :thumb:

Wow... those some really unique looking drivers.   Where did Bob come up with the idea for that kind of motor?   That basket looks really unique too!

Interesting - a bit low effeciency, and I assume decent Xmax - looking good.  Price?

Yes they do.
Same crossover no issue at all.Just a little smaller cut out, so some of the hole will show from the Extremis.

But the new look is great.

Hi,

Just back from a brief holiday so I couldn't respond till now.

I think the XMAX is more like 11mm one way but we are having some tests run and will publish the full specs when done.  Inventory is expected around the 19th.

Triple copper shorting rings with large vent holes on the rear of the Neo motor.

These are just a few new things done to this new driver over the Extremis.
