the most important things in life

food,shelter,car,soul mate.  where does stereo rank?  what does stereo mean to you?  is it more important
than going to an ohio state football game?

For me, a good stereo system ranks right up at the top of the 'material stuff I don't necessarily need to survive, but is still important' list.

That depends. If they're playing Kent State, then yes. If it's Michigan, then no. I was a Buckeye before I could walk, and I've been going to games since I could walk.

Ohio State? Who cares. It's not as important as going to a Northwestern football game. Unless you don't want to die of a heartattack at the age of 20.

I'm with Zero, nice equipment is my second most favorite materialistic obsession/hobby, right behind enjoying music and exploring new music!  Ohio State is a nice state, was there once about 25-30 years ago, Columbus I think it was.  There was a large park just littered with turn of the century iron bridges, beautiful!  I wasn't aware that they were into soccer though...

Audio and video are huge to me but it ebbs and flows depending on what else is going on in my life.  Recently I quit my job as a chef to go back to school; I got a job cooking, no management responsibility and flexible hours to work around classes.  Of course, I won't make nearly the kind of money I was making, so audio will be a low priority for awhile.  I might even scale back my rig and sell a few items to fund school.  I'm fortunate in that I'm in a place where I'm happy enough with what I have that I should be able to survive forgoeing upgrades for awhile (except for room treatments- I'll have to bite the bullet and spend a few bucks there before I quit :lol:).

when I was a kid we did not have a TV for two years.  that was a bummer.  my cheap all in one stereo
played a big role in my life.

 I think it takes some longer than others to realize verbs trump nouns.

Stereo's rank way down on my list of what's important...music is much higher on the list.

My favorite "system" is a portable radio that cost about $30, because of where it's at.

Actually I don't think one trumps the other; in fact, how could they when you need both to create sentences?

The sentence "Or is that your words?" contains a singular subject pronoun (that) and a plural predicate noun antecedent (words).  Subjects and their predicate helping nouns have to agree in number.

C'mon, guys... let's desist with the grammar lesson.

If you insist on continuing, take it private since it's off topic and has nothing to do with audio. 

FWIW, I've found correcting others' grammar (or typos, or whatever) one of the quickest and surest ways to foster resentment. I recommend resisting the urge, but to each his own.

 8)    I now have a well (hand pump) so I built a shower (Zodi.com x-40)
