Brilliant by all counts - scale and scope.

Thanks Danny

What do you guys think our next shootout should be?

Tube amps, tube pre-amps, or DACs $1200 or less.  Or -- maybe -- something like accessories (powerline conditioners, resonance control devices, or other types of "treatments")....

That note refers more to other upgrades that we have not announced yet :)

Thanks,

The Skiing Ninja website says they're working on speaker projects with GR.  Was this one of those projects?  If so, the great measured performance is clearly a product of rigorous engineering chops.

A small nit - I notice that often in the text accompanying the graphs there is a mis-reading of the curves to the tune of 1 kHz.

For example, on the first page in the vertical off-axis curves for the Epos on this page:
http://tinyurl.com/2st2sg
the text with the graph mentions 5.6, 4.6 and 3.6 kHz yet the dips are actually centered on 6.6, 5.6 and 4.6 kHz.
This happens repeatedly throughout the two pages of graphs.

Danny,

In terms of measurements, what are the differences between the Skiing Ninja xl-s and the stock x-ls?

Thanks,
Jose

Russell, good eye.

I checked into this and found that on my monitor and the scale I was looking at the graph it dropped out the 2kHz line and caused me to read the dipped areas to be lower that they really are. I'll send corrections to James.

Thanks,

They are exactly the same.

A little disheartening to see so many loudspeakers measuring so badly :shake:. And they still sell? Interesting. I was sure the HT-2's, RAV1X, and AV123XLS would measure well. What was shocking was the incredibly smooth vertical off axis response of the AV123 XLS. That's something I'm not used to seeing in an MT. Would be real interesting to see the MTM version of that speaker.

Great work :thumb:

Part of that is the really low crossover point near 1.6kHz.

It also is just as smooth an and off axis.
