That moon\fence shot is really excellent.  Love it! :thumb:

Here is a picture that I took when visiting Orlando (2008).

I really like that water texture\color.  Tere's an example of a photo that almost has to be in color for it to work right.

Correct.  Lights were there to give out colors.  Just like color painting.

A square crop favoring the left side might be interesting.  There is a falloff into shadows in the middle where the colorful reflection dies out, and the very bright windows on the right and the purplish pillar tend to draw one's eye away.  But hey, I'm nitpicking. :)

Thanks for the analysis.  :thumb:

I am guilty for not post processing in ANY of my pictures.   :green:

Just curious, Levi - what was the vantage point for the Central Park shot?

As to the two (very nice) photos at Bugleboy's house - I probably would have been tempted to brighten them a tad, and they might not have looked any better, really - in fact the magical impression of the underwater lighting in the pools would have been in jeopardy.

I am learning to accept some black in my photos so that detail is retained in the light areas, like the sky/clouds in some back lit scenes.

Thanks Russell.

I cannot agree more.  You loose details in other areas of the picture where black is no longer black.

As for the bugleboy's house, I took the metering on the pool and the rest just follows.

The vantage point for the Central Park picture was on top of Rockeffeller building (Top of the Rock).  $18 to get in with $2 coupon.  No Tripod allowed inside.

Hey!

I thought so.... "Top of the Rock" :D They just recently reopen this. Never been up there. Look like a nice spot to see NYC.... but @ $18 bucks!  :? Well, I guess it is cheap if you have the Euros to start with

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

I am sure there are many vantage points in NYC.  One is at Empire State building the tallest building in NY at the moment.

Here is another picture just after Sun down.

Closer...

Next time around, I will bring an UltraWide lense.  :green:
