Tony is definitely at his peak! He was in rare form last night for sure! Compared to the other times I have seen him, this was definitely the best. I think the atmosphere was very comfortable for him, and he was really able to just go all out.
Bryn Bright on bass is amazing too, and I was really glad to see her rise to Tony's challenges for solos. You don't get to see too many people show off on bass when it comes to bluegrass. But Tony knew she could do it, and boy did she ever!
Tony played Summertime, and he even threw in a touching Johnny Cash tribute with "Cold Wayfaring Stranger", which he actually played on an album with Johnny.
The Community Church is a neat little venue, and very intimate. I think I'll be going back to some more shows there.
Bryan Sutton is coming next month, and that should be great too!
