Started to listen to the Reference one in the chain of PE's, two hours after first install. During the first 25-30 seconds, I thought that the system was somehow wired out-of-phase. Quickly, I determined that this wasn't the case and that the soundstage had moved further into the living room and away from the loudspeakers. The whole time I sat there thinking that Alan was a genius and how does he do it?! If you use his PE series of Power Enhancer products, you
would be justified into purchasing the Reference One because they
do work in tandem with one another. What I'm hearing from the get go is smother highs and everything seems tighter and easier to listen to over a longer period and this is with just one Reference filter! The other is plugged in on another circuit. I played several rather bright sounding cd's that are pretty unlistenable and I can report that they are now listenable by a large margin. I can't wait until day 3 & 4! Although I haven't tried it, I would bet that folks with MP3's would benefit greatly because of the compressed sound. I was sitting there a few minutes before starting my system up wondering how it could get any better and indeed it has. It is amazing how the a/c power can have the influence that it does on what you are hearing. Like I've stated other times in this Thread, I've tried many power products over the years and have never had my system sounding the way that it does now. Order at least one of these devices now or you'll never know what you are missing!!
Hey Alan?? Have you thought of designing a device that combined the PE & Ref One that one could use in their automobile plugged into the cigarette lighter? I would be interested!
Edit: Oops! Changed first sentence of first paragraph to correctly read "after first install" instead of "two hours after listening".
