BTW, I have 1 Quantum v2 demo available if anyone is interested.  Asking price is $300.00.

Jen, you've got a PM on the V2 demo, assuming it's appropriate for my current setup.

Jen, I saw the new Infinity Strings power cables on your site.   How do these stack up against your Ref power cords?   Will they replace the Reference PCs in your lineup?

Any info is appreciated!

Hi Mike-

The quick answer is no, they will not replace the Reference Power Cables in the line up.  The Infinity Strings Power Cable was designed to offer magnificent sound quality at a low-budget price, keeping in mind the economic crisis.  As you are aware with the Reference Power Cable, geometry is used to filter noise and EMI before entering the component and before the component leaks back to the wall.  This type of geometry creates a warm, organic, slightly open sound quality with increased soundstaging benefits.  The Infinity Strings geometry was designed to be absolutely neutral, it does nothing to cancel out noise within the wiring.  All noise suppression is done through the AC shell which is filled with the Infinity CBF and the IEC shell which contains the Pulse Gen filter.  If you like those two designs, then you'll love the I-Strings PC.  The I-Strings was also designed to gel with the remainder of our other filters.  It doesn't really matter if your budget only permits a PEv3 or a CBF or a Quantum Studio, the I-Strings cord will be at home with all those systems.

Thank you!

Wonderful review on the Ref III!
It seems to get the same accolades as the Quantum Studio.
How close sonically are the two?
What I am asking is does one have better noise removal, soundstage enhancement, bass extention, blacker background, more dynamic...Etc.

The Ref III is nothing like the Q-Studio filter.  The Ref III is an active earth ground filter.  Highly recommended for any AM designs filtered home, especially if you already use the Ref II.

The I-Strings cableis a different animal compared to the Reference series cables.  The I-Strings geometry is not part of the sound quality of the cable...if you are familiar with the CBF or Gen Pulse filter, then you will enjoy the I-Strings cable.  Compared to the Reference line, the I-Strings is an intro product.

I just placed my order for both of the above.  Since learning about Alan's products, I have been reading his website and this thread.  The one common issue that seems to be constantly repeated is the physical application of the products themselves.  When I receive mine and get them installed I will be posting pictures to show how I installed them.  It would be very helpful if others could do the same.  It might be easier than it sounds to install them, but as the saying goas, "a picture is worth a thousand words".

I have not been through all 63 pages of this thread, so there may be pictures that I have not found yet.

good call, I'm also happy to post some pictures if helpful (I might discover that I'm not doing it the best way when Jen or Alan post feedback!)
