I'm with Cacophonix -- try the smaller GR Reaserch models and have Denny, (daygloworange) build them for you and you will have some very nice speakers that look and sound great.

Denny and Salk are super duper speaker builders.
At present i hesitate to approach them as their speakers will out shine everything else in my house, and my wife will want to upgrade the rest of the furniture!  :duh:

Loving my new Amphion Helium 2's. $600.00 used, $800.00 new.

Some very good choices mentioned upthread. I'll chime in as a Selah speakers owner. I have the Sardonyx center and it is a match to the Tanzanites that I have as well. They are 3-way monitors using SEAS Excel 7" drivers, Morel 2" dome mid, and a 2" Fountek ribbon tweeter. For rear surrounds I have the S7's which are simply two-way versions of the Tanny's that minus the midrange driver, and some size and heft. Very nice speakers and Rick will build pretty much whatever you want him too. BTW mine are in the standard maple veneer (also come in Cherry). Other finishes are extra.
