Hi everyone, just registered. I have just bought a pair of AMT's on German ebay. One was damaged in transit (waiting for replacement) so for now I only have one to play with. I am working on a mid/high two driver set up to be used with a separate unit for lows. The objective is to build a very fast dipole with the accent on soundstage and realism for live recordings.
The AMT's are very fast indeed, I have not used this type of driver before so I cant say how they compare to other AMT's but I can say that they are very good, true dipoles so ideal for OB designs
The problem is to find a cone driver to handle from say 150 Hz to 1500 Hz which can keep up with the speed of the AMT. Right now I am using Jordan JX92S and have played with drivers destined for home cinema as they need good dynamics. Also trying to come up with an open baffle which is small but still gives good low mids. I am not trying to get a "ruler" flat response, as I said I am looking for soundstage and for me the open baffle dipole is King for this.
Anybody else doing something similar? BTW the AMT's are from "bel-AMT".
