Yes, West,

I believe you are right.  Silly fellow.  A waste of people's energy.

Just reading back, did you see my comment in August 2nd 2007 about an imminent world Recession?  Quite proud of that.....

Cheers,

Hugh
I was reading the thread, never sen it before, and when I got to your prediction I looked at the thread date. "The guy's a freakin genius," that was my thought. Good call, unfortunately.

However, it's conceivable that we may soon enter another world wide depression, and that this will radically slow hydrocarbon consumption.  Further, the price of energy is beginning to move up very quickly all over the world, and this too will force a reduction in consumption levels.  Arguably we could then be saving our world inadvertently - no bad thing.

That was quite a nice foresight!  :thumb:
Too bad OPEC brought prices back down in order to stop us from saving our world...

How strange, I just did a quick post on water.  I live in Brisbane and we have just ended a very long drought which lasted many years.  It has now broken in a big way and now, even though the dams are just about full again, water restrictions still apply and there is a big change in attitudes in the general population.

I doubt that anyone would consider using a spinkler to water their lawns or gardens again, or hose their car down for that matter.  In the "olden days" people used to hose their driveways clean, I have not seen this happen again and reckon if someone tried this today they would be pounced upon by neighbours and berated, and then call the police at such wanton criminal activity, times have indeed changed.
