BOLDER CABLE CLOSED AUGUST 13-17
« on: 31 Jul 2007, 01:02 pm »
We will be taking our daughter out to Columbia, MO to start her freshman year at Mizzou.

If you would like to get anything modded and returned before then, please place your order and ship it out this week.

I should have all parts on hand to get SB3 mods done quickly.

Thank you,

Wayne

Hi Wayne

You may have covered this somewhere already I know the analog mods lower the volts output on the SB3 to about 1.2 or what ever fiqure do the digital mods (basic or any of the digital level mods) cause a output voltage drop?

thanks in advance

The analog output is reduced because the op-amps after the DAC chip are removed, along with other circuitry.

The op-amps provide gain to the signal in the analog section. They also lower the quality of the signal. It all sounds quite a bit better running direct from the DAC chip.

None of that is involved in the digital mods. The internal power supply is "upgraded" and the digital output circuit is rerouted for a cleaner signal. The digital output connector is replaced with a 75 ohm WBT NextGen RCA connector. There is no change in output level.
