FS Atelier Audio The First Horn SOLD!
« on: 28 Jul 2007, 03:32 pm »
This is a Back Loaded Horn cabinet design built out of Birch Ply. Uses the Fostex FE 126E driver. Has stainless steel footers, and driver launching ring. These are a small floorstander that measure out 36" tall by 7.5" wide by 15" deep. Uses Cardas binding post and 14 AWG OFC internal wiring. Speaker is 95DB efficient, and capable of being driven with low powered tube amplifiers. Or it will turn a modest 30 WPC integrated amp into a powerhouse. Introductory price was $699+ duties(they are from Canada) Have pics available on request.

This speaker is perfect for those looking to experience the benefits of full range drivers at a modest cost. The FE 126 is capble of imaging, and displaying fine detail in a manner that the larger drivers can't. In my opinion, its the best sounding inexpensive driver Fostex makes. The cabinet allows the the FE 126 to produce satisfying bass response. All in all it is a well thought out design with excellent build quality. For instance, cabinets were built on a CNC machine, not someone in their garage witha table saw and router. It might be good to note that Aletier is Gemme Audio factory direct offering, and shares their build facilities.

So if your into SET, small British integrateds, or chip amps, than the First Horn is an excellent match for all of them. Easeier to contact me at my email: sher1ock@msn.com

Trades Considered

Will consider taking a trade for them of equal value. Need a small integrated for instance. Or a solid state amp.

how about a nice vintage mitsubishi amp?  da-a10dc; 100wpc into 8 ohms, 130 into 4 ohms, true dual mono construction.  i got it in a package deal w/a mitsu tuna i wanted, & i have no use for it...  accepts up to two pairs of speakers, 4-16 ohms, has wolume pots for each channel, a really nice amp, (for solid-state, that is!   :green:), & really cool looking:

that pic isn't of my amp; i can take actual pics, if you're interested...
