A soon to be superstar!

Esmee Denters was discovered because of her popularity on YouTube.com.  She is now opening for Justin Timberlake.  I realize many may not like all this new age R&B but this girl has some serious talent.  Enjoy all!

She is cute and sings alright.  I wouldn't call her voice exceptional but then many have found success with less.  I wish her the best but she may be hitching her wagon to a wrong donkey.  :dunno:

I've seen a few of the "You Tube...she can sing threads" never looked at one but if they were all referring to this singer then I can't see what all the fuss is about.  I agree with woodsyi, alright singer nothing I would remember based on the clips I saw.  Obviously with studio packaging of today she probably could make a decent to nice record.  But if this is a superstar then the talent pool is seriously dry.  Looks to have limited range and power with just a pleasent tone and rather bland to me.  Her singing "No More Drama" in that clip was an injustice.  That song get me somewhat choked up and that performance was about as bland as raw tofu.  I think I saw at least 3 singers better than her on America's Got Talent last night and that's not saying alot.  I wish her all the best but how is she any better than say..."JoJo"  who is having decent success but is no where near a superstar.   http://www.jojoonline.com

Now we're talking Phil.
Compare Phil's suggestion to the previous young lady.
Whole different level  :thumb:  ...but I could be biased.

She's got a pretty good range...some of her other stuff reminds me more of Ricky Lee Jones than Norah Jones...

She reminds me of Ricky Lee.  I downloaded her Louisiana Soul CD. I will play it when I get home to see how she really sounds on my special vocal set up.

I like the Lelia stuff, although it's too pop (for me) for serious listening.  It's like it's directed to 14 year old girls.  She reminds me of Alana Davis.

FWIW, she's only 19 years old (was 15 when she recorded her Louisiana Soul CD)...

Thanks for the heads up Phil, one venue is right down the street from my work...so maybe. This weekend is a little booked up for me, now that I have a baby I can't just go do things on a whim anymore, so if I can find a sitter...

Sadly Phil, I did not get to go.  But I knew that would be the case...short noticefor a sitter.  Hell, I've got Netflix movies from 3 weeks ago I'm still trying to watch, still trying to find a good 2 free hours.  I am able to keep the laptop logged onto the net and check in for a few minutes here and there to keep up with what's going on in the world. But I apprectiate the heads up, maybe next time.
