Oppo announced a new 980H model last week that will upconvert any movie without the flag enabled over component.  Which really means any movie since you can copy DVDs without copying the flag  restriction. http://www.oppodigital.com/dv980h/default.asp

What percentage of commercial DVDs out there have the flag enabled?

The old Momitsu players woud upconvert over component.

Lets not get AudioCircle into hot water.  It is illegal to break the encryption on a commercial dvd.  The media studios tossed enough money to congress that fair use is gone.

I have a couple of year old Samsung DVD Player (HD 841, I think) that will allow upsampled output over component with a simple hack. I didn't notice that much of an improvement over regular 480p on my display, though.

I would guess 90 odd % are encrypted. There are hacks out there that take some knowledge, however.

There is readily findable hack(google it) for the Oppo 970 to output upscaled over component.
