..... I did express my annoyance of being dependent upon an installer. I think it's a great product and would buy one if the installer/dealer was removed from the equation. They are obviously targeting a different market.

Can't figure why any firm would spend years developing a product, set up a website to promote it, tantalize prospective customers to a frenzy and then not tell anyone how and where they can buy it! Sure is a bizarre business model. 
Well, that wagging finger is a good indication of why Audeyssey wouldn't want anything to do with this audiophile market. Why would they want to deal with Bob, you or me? We're a minuscule market in comparison to the 'high end' HT theater receiver, and professional install market, and the cost of providing support for the likes of us simply is not worth it compared to their targeted markets.
It looks like they have an excellent business model,
