Piccolo Problem
« on: 5 Jul 2007, 12:38 am »
Just tested my Piccolo today.  DRATS!!  I have a blue LED, but very little volume and poor sound.  All I have is a DMM.  Any hints about trouble shooting are welcome.  Thanks for any leads in advance.  FWIW, I have good solder technique now and have successfully built most of the Hagerman line.  I thought this one would be a breeze...... :(

Ok, blue LED is good start.  First, check supply voltages all the way through circuit.  At first stage you end up about +7V and -3V, I think.  You can also run high level test signals through the device.  I typically test on bench using 0.1Vrms input sinewave.  Can post photo?

I will try to post a photo later after work.  Only have a DMM, so it's unclear to me how to test.  I will try to test the supply voltages, as you suggested.  Thanks.
