They had a blast, so did I.
I am trying to raise my boys right.
The power of music and dance

My oldest (7) is just beginning to read but he already knows the difference between a preamp and an amp

My youngest (5) asked where the stereo in my car was, I said, "right here" pointing to the center console, and he said," But where are the tubes?"
Smart kid

No beer for the boys, that's pure sugar you see there.

I like the speakers they have great drive and great bass, 3.0's must be silly nice :thumb:

They have a big speaker sound I like.
Regarding amps , just tried the biamping which seems to work out well, but maybe this weekend I will go to just the SS amp to see if that works out better, or if I just want to believe the biamping works :?
Got to get gary here with the Butler
everyone else I know locally doesn't have any big power for these speakers, they like power and they deserve it!  Nothing succeeds like excess!

Clean strong power.....that is what really turns them on....

I kind of wish that I had made the trip up to George's awhile back, so I could of tried the TP's with the McCormack DNA-500.....think it would of been a good match.....

Yeah I am looking into the Greg Ball mono blocks
Gary would bring the Odyssey, but I hate to ask, those are his babies and he just had them upgraded

The AKSA 100 Nirvana+ ......which I will have upgraded to the Lifeforce.
Its a big upgrade sound wise....I have Occam's now on loan in my system, so I could compare the two. :thumb:

Chris, how do you like the 100 Nirvana+/lifeforce driving the timepiece alone, rather than just on the woofer?  I'm trying to get a feel of just how much amplifier power you need to make the TP sing.

It works....but they really need more for most rooms, and they sound the best that way....TP's are not efficient. My room is small....but I use many different amps...and I don't always drive them hard.

But when I do.....I need the higher watts....

My boys (8 and 10) act like that even when the stereo's off.  When I put on the Beatles they really bug out!

All the more reason to get them upgraded ASAP, Chris.  The new crossovers are MUCH easier to drive.

'Course, having a lot of watts on hand never a bad thing, regardless of the crossover configuration!

Short answer - yes!  :D

Longer version - The Timepiece 3s will be at least as easy to drive as the 2.1s, which are MUCH easier to drive than the 2.0s.  I'm driving my 2.1s with 100W/side and don't feel the need for more.  I believe Karsten is using a 70W tube amp with his Revelations and loves it, and another Timepiece owner in CA is using (I think) a 50W amp.

Could be.

I can only hope that one day, if/when I have kids - they will enjoy my stereo like that!

Then again, behind closed doors - I can act kinda like them when the music is really groovin'.  Shhhhhhhhhhhh don't tell anyone
