Picture Of The Day

My eBay win arrived in one piece. This is the most well-built lens I have ever seen, even compared to Zeiss Distagon 35mm I used to have.
Lighted with 42" Reflective Umbrella Softbox and 580EX II.

I sure love my 'Mk. 1'. I use it mostly to shoot wide landscapes, shifting and shooting left-center-right frames. These are merged quickly in Photoshop to create a Panavision-like image as wide as 2.5:1. Here's a quicky shot with my 5D in the red-rock area of Sedona, AZ, several years ago.

I gotta try that left-center-right merge when I get to a proper place.
For now, shot into the sun with some horizontal tilt..

I rented that same lens once for work. It was really sharp and undistorted but I couldn't fully get into fine tuning the movements when looking through such a small viewfinder. It's got a pretty good range of rise and fall if I remember correctly.

We shall await your Miniature Diorama photos any day now…

Great photo. Makes me feel like I am there. A single shot would not have had nearly the same impact.

Nice!

This is one thing I envy Canon and Nikon user. And it is unlikely Sony will ever make one. Although, I think there are Russian made one available out there.

Well, Samyang has almost officially announced a Tilt-Shift 24mm by "mid 2012," so you may be in luck. In fact, if it's as good as their 35mm optically, I might sell the Canon TS-E and get the Samyang, who seems to have manual wide angles figured out pretty well.
