make sure you have a weather sealed lens on there when its raining as it will do you no good having a sealed body if it gets in through the lens mount :)

Thanks for the info, I am pretty sure the AFS VR 70-200G is OK. I was very pleased with the shot in view of the conditions, and I was at full zoom as well. Very sharp really :D

Awesome Bokee(background blur) on this shot.

Fuji F31fd. f/6.4 .. 1/340 sec .. Iso 200 ..
Actual size of fly? ca 1/6'th inch or so.

Up top on the picture is a VERY small mite, the red little thing on the left side of the rolled up leaf there. Cool!
That has gotta be like 1/24'th to 1/30'th of an inch or so!!!  :o Small little critter!

It seems to be like only 20% as long as one of the hairs on the back of that fly!
It's latin name is Trombidium by the way... velvet/flower mite..  :thumb: it actually in the arachnid family too!

Yes looks good, hey tell a novice, how can you shot that with a Macro lens. What aren't I getting about the focal range?

its a match box car!    :duh:

Any macro lens gains it's designation from being able to focus at things very close to it... they will all still focus to infinity ;-)

oh dear :)

no its a real car, just taking the piss out of Mr content because of his misceptions about macro lenses (which is actually a pretty common misconception.)

which model and year is that, ooheadsoo?

Good looking bike. I've got a lot of respect for Suzuki bikes - I've had some great ones, and my brother was a Suzuki dealer.

Those are some fabulous pictures, fellas, super.  And, Brown, good fortune to you.  It would gladden my heart to live there.  I expect it does yours, too.  Heads, where you been, cat?

Thanks.

Russell, Suzuki SV 650, I think it's a 2007.  Aftermarket carbon fiber exhaust, the stock one is apparently too quiet.  My friend was rear ended on his last SV 650 2 months ago because the lady behind him forgot he was there.  It was a miracle he was hardly hurt.  It has other mods, I forget which.  Frame sliders etc.

Bob, the original was brighter, but my friend and I had wanted it to be darker in the first place - but we were unable to get farther from his car due to space constraints, so I darkened the background in Lightroom.  As for the darkness of some of the bike, that's the result of only 2 lights and no reflectors handy.  I had only 1 working light stand and the top light was held by one of us standing just outside the picture.  No one left to hold reflectors even if I had had any.  I would have liked one at the bottom left and right of the bike.

Hey Jim, I've been lurking around here every day, just no time to post anything.  Been busy with a lot of things.  My PC was also down for the last few months.  I finally made some time to put a new one together last weekend.

Don't keep us in suspense, WerTicus.  What's the name (species) of your furry friend?
