Here's a sequel to your deer shot last month in May. I had just gotten a new 150-600mm lens for my full frame yesterday. So late this afternoon, I walked back behind the house, and saw this!
I haven't even got 50 actuations on the lens and certainly haven't learned how to either hold or operate this beast (the lens) properly. Just getting started. Oh boy!
Steadiness in addition to tripod work will be necessary, but here I got lucky. Nice way to break in the lens; give me hope for what I can do when I know what I'm doing.
This is at 600mm, handheld. I trimmed very little of the grass in the foreground and trees in the background. Hardly a crop here.
