Just returned from taking a group of kids to United States Capital - Washington D.C. There is so much to see and experience there, and it was great for the kids to learn more about the country's origins, history and operations. Washington really requires several trips to take it all in. Each one of the museums is an education unto itself.
Here's two images that seemed rather poignant, particularly at this time in both the US and World Affairs:
1) "Freedom Is Not Free" - Korean War Memorial - Freedom is definitely not free and has never been. It comes with great costs. Countless have persevered and sacrificed to provide for it... here and everywhere.
2) America Divided - A bus banner driving by the Lincoln Memorial. Certainly during President Lincoln's time it was so, and now, the United States struggles with extremely important issues that divide it as well.
