Another close-up of garden variety birds in the Midwest of North America. This little guy is called a "Tufted Titmouse." So logically that should make a pair
be known as, "Titmice," shouldn't it!? 

BTW, this shot with taken with a vintage Pentax-M SMC 135mm Manual Prime Lens (200mm effective) on a Pentax K-5 Digital Body. Handheld & Manual Focus.

Hi Guy, actually that picture was taken outside my apartment yesterday in Oklahoma.
Every year at this time all the cherry blossoms (the whole length of the street) show us
what they got. It’s to bad it doesn’t last long.

Been awhile since I've posted. Been really busy at work.

Anyway, I got asked to shoot the first dress rehearsal of a musical my oldest daughter is in, Avenue Q.
If you are a local or or happen to be in town this weekend, it runs tonight through Sunday. It's a hoot! Oh, the proceeds go to feed the homeless here in town!

As some may not know, shooting live theater can be a challenge. First is lighting. The ambient light on the stage scene props are easy. It gets difficult when they turn the spotlights on. Most of the time the shot is ruined because half the shot is perfect, the other half is washed out (or darkened) by the spots. Next are motion artifacts. At the slow speeds you are shooting, timing the shot is critical otherwise you see blurred movement. I could have payed a bit closer attention to my depth of field in some of the shots.

These are raw, no retouching, no cropping or color correction, just resized to fit the AC gallery requirements.

First up is one of my daughter. She played the pink Bad Advise Bear and helped animate several of the puppets.

I shot these with the fastest lens I've got in the stable, my Canon EFS17-55 at a fixed f/2.8. I used a lens hood to keep bleed over out.

Some fine lookin' crawdads there Bob. Makes my mouth water.    Who knew back in the day when we just messed with them in the local creek they were actually some fine dining.
