what should I get to power HT3's

Looking for a integrated amp with tuner and a cd player. I want to power a pair of HT3's. I also want the amp and cd player to have a small form factor too.

Are you talking reciever or a integrated plus a tuner and CD player.

If you are leaning to a reciever I would go to the Denon or Marantz.

Budget?

A small birdy told me from the intergrated shoot out,the Little dot was still a very good intergrated for the money. And a tuner and CD player and you have a economy sytem.

Away from these look at the 3205 intergrated.

I checked out denon and marantz. Didn't really see anything. Looking to spend around 1000-1500 on the electronics. Want somehin that looks good and has the power to make the HT3 sound really good.

Thanks,

Rotel has a muscley integrated rated at 100W. My buddy has it and it drives his PSB Stratus Golds quite well. Not sure if it has a tuner.

Depends on your listening levels.
I think so for most people

I like the look of that one. What exactly is a class T amp. Do they make a matching CD player and tuner.

I have had the pleasure of the HT3 in my house, and I tried them with a 30wpc receiver, 50wpc gainclone, and 300wpc monoblocks.

The gainclone caused some issues with an odd sound that seemed like the ribbons were "snapping".  Turned off ASAP and never reinserted.

The 30wpc receiver (a JVC EX-A1 for the record) did very well, and was fun.  Enough power.

The 300wpc monoblocks were fantastic.

I presently own a low powered tube amp (3-5wpc single ended pentode) and would NOT recommend that - but of course Al knows his speakers, and I am sure his insight would be beneficial.

I would take a poke at that Tripath integrated, for $399, and already in Canada, that could be excellent!

Thanks for the input Mark.
The HT3 you had had the old crossovers not the ones designed by Danny.
These new crossovers have more SPL as well a better over all stronger presence.

Yes that amp looks very good for the money!

I have the Little Dot T 100 Class T that was in the amp shoot out. That one from the shoot out I purchased from Danny and just recieved the other day.
Yes it had has the upgraded tube pre stage

All I can say is  aa for the money $399.99 this amp is a no brainer :thumb:

• Based on the Tripath TA2022 Class T • Continuous Maximum Output: 2x100W @ 4 ohms, 2x60 @ 8 ohms • Frequency Response: 9 hz - 93 Khz (+/- 5db) • THD+N: 0.02% • Micro-chip switching from four different sources • 0 to -63 digital volume control (degree of distortion < 0.002%) • Samsung digital (VFD) display • Speaker surge protection: 200VA • Infrared remote control • Dimensions: 14"L x 10'W x 3"H • Weight: 7.5 kg (16.5 lbs) • Includes Upgraded Tube Pre-stage PCB with EF92/CV131 vacuum tubes

The new 150 would be a pick for me if it carries itself as this one does.
