Is the Squeezebox 2 still recommended over the 3 for modding by Wayne, because of more interior room in the 2?

Are there any other significant differences between the 2 and 3? Also, is the pricing of analog + digital mods the same for both units? It's hard to tell from the website.

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger and enter the 21st century.

The SB2 is all but impossible to find anymore. The SB3 is only going to be available in all black. The White with silver faceplate is on sale now. You can get an additional $20.00 if you use the code "LIVE365" I think this is good to the end of May.

The SB2 does offer a bit more room to fit the larger Sonicap Gen 1 caps. I have made some advances in the mods to the SB3. I think it is very close between the two of them.

Cost wise, the SB2 mods are a little bit more expensive because of the cost of the Sonicap vs the BlackGates used in the analog coupling circuit.

The SB3 "might" be a bit better on digital output, as there is a regulator just for the digital buffer chip in the 3 while the 2 doesn't have it.
