I have a few of these Mapleshade pointed weights lying around. This completely transforms the Imod. It costs $22 + shipping.
http://www.mapleshaderecords.com/audioproducts/heavyhat.phpI have these little things in my system & have a few extra after going OB. aa I'm placing it right on the face & it hasn't made a mark after 2 nights of play. Don't store the points on the face though... Do not turn it on its back either..
this tweak has a much larger impact than any cable swap, assuming you have a decent cable already...

All i'm after is sublime performance from my gear, nothing more, nothing less. Of all my tweaks, this is #1. I've been playing with Mapleshade tweaks a while, never ran into a change like this though.
Like a duck to water...
The deal is that when Imod is playing, or any Ipod for that matter, it is vibrating. Normally these vibes have nowhere to go & muck up the sound. Now, there is a solution.
this is crazy guys, Mapleshade has a 30 day trial, it'll take you 30 seconds to hear the improvement, its instant.
YMMY
only because of the 4" air dried maple platform the Imod sits on...so does my TT. this has a lot to do with Imod sounding good & my impressions of it...but this little weight completes the picture in a way i didn't think possible.
If you're an Imod owner who just wishes their HD transfers sounded better? I mean its easy to tell the Imod is quality, but do you want better still? try this, its wild as hell.
I think its taking internal vibes & draining them better into the maple platform... the result is a change i've never experienced, its as if the files are now Master Tapes.
Long before I had my 'pod modded it became apparent that the surface it touches dictates the tone, in many ways.. an accidental butcher block encounter 3 yrs ago led to this.
Here it is, Imod nirvana. Its a top-to-bottm transformation, not a slight improvement by any means. You have not heard your tracks or just what Vinnie is capable of... this is not one of those "wow, the bass is great now" changes.
If you set your Imod on MDF or glass, please place an empty album cover or 10 sheets of copy paper in between. i've found both to be a decent subistute for good wood.
no affiliations, just cuttin' it up a bit...

this will not work with mapleshade's flat weights & won't work with their large weight either! TRY THIS. its a doozey...
