PICCOLO-BUGLE
« on: 4 May 2007, 03:31 pm »
I am very interested in the Piccolo-Bugle posted on the Hagerman Tech weblog. This is exactly the sort of thing I'd like to construct. Seeing as I am in the midst of constructing the Bugle Pro, is it just a matter of buying some stand-offs to put the Piccolo circuit above the Bugle circuit and re-routing some hookup wire, or is it more complex than that?
I am rather inexperienced so I hope my question isn't too silly

Yeah, just leave off the RCA jacks.  All 3 boards have same spacing for standoff mounts.  Only issue is that these holes connect to ground, so metal standoffs can add ground loops.  This configuration was the main reason I added a regulator to the PICCOLO, so that it could handle a +15V input supply.

Boards then just wire up together.  They do not need to be stacked.  Side by side is ok too.  Or put PICCOLO on the front panel so you have easier access to controls (I has them on top).

I have the Bugle Pro and was thinking about adding the Piccolo on top of the Bugle and having the switches either be accessed by taking the case top off or putting the switches on top of the case.

- When you buy the Piccolo do you get the chassis with it?

PICCOLO half-kit (kit/2) is the blank board with 6 pair of JFETS installed.  And maybe a couple of screws and nuts.  No chassis.  The aluminum box is a standard digikey part.  You drill it and paint it on your own.
