I'm seriously considering a Bryston 10b. While researching I found this little article that has some good general info on Sub integration with electronic XO (Bryston 10b).

Since we've been on the topic of Subs lately, I thought some of you may find it interesting.

interesting article, ep.  years ago, when i was looking to put together a sub system, i also was considering the 10b x-over.  i ended up going w/a marchand xm9-LL instead, & have no regrets.  why?  it's less than half the price, its x-over points are manually adjustable to any walue you choose, 24db/octave slopes, and a wolume pot *at* the chosen x-over frequency, to adjust for anomalies of different speakers.  also - a main consideration for me - was sonic quality.  several folks i spoke with, who were familiar w/both units, said the marchand was at least as transparent, if not more so.  'nuff said.  now, don't get me wrong - i've never auditioned a bryston x-over, & it may be the best there is.  but, i'm way happy w/my marchand, and it's been completely transparent, w/many different speakers i've tried in my rig.  also, w/the aid of a pink noise generator, & a spectrum analyzer, it's quite easy to effect a good blend w/any speaker i've tried...

In case you didn't notice, Bryston now has a CIRCLE on this site and James Tanner frequents it regularly.

I too am considering the 10B since I am currently using an ancient Dahlquist crossover (which is still quite good) and it has a couple loose RCA jacks.

I'm sure James would answer any questions you might have about the x-over. (which now has a slightly higher list than when the article was written)

While asking James a ????? on the Bryston is a great idea,  you guys may also want to ask Curt at IRD about his upcoming XO.

I'm hopeful it will be up to the quality of his recently introduced Purist pre-amp.

I have had the pleasure of exchanging a few emails with James in the past. I'm lucky enough to live where there is a Bryston dealer and did have the opportunity to audition a 10b a year ago.
I've all but made up my mind on this unit. Sad thing is that I cannot afford a new unit so I need to hold out for a used one
I don't mind owning used Bryston at all but I hate waiting for something once I've made up my mind. I should drop James another line to see if he can put me on to an excellent used 10B.

Marbles, last I read, the IRD xo will not offer the low Xo setting I'll need for Subwoofer duties. I'm also looking for something that will offer completely adjustable slope and XO point for both the Subs and Mains independently. I don't think the IRD xo will do this.
I would love for Curt to develop and XO like this because I'm absolutely thrilled with my Purist. I'll take another read of the IRD web site to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Yes the article is old but offers some good setup advice nonetheless.

I think your right on the above (lack of) features.
This product is still in the pre-production stage, so it is always best to contact Curt for the latest info.
