VMPS System STONEHENGE

The columns are 14 1/2" W x 20"D x 68"H and the base is 1" wider all around, so footprint is 16 1/2"W x 22"D.

Hmmm...Somewhat similar to the dimensions of the RM40.

Speaking with a VMPS client today about the VMPS System STONEHENGE, which consists of a minimum of a pair of RM40's and a pair of VLA's.

For those who wish to be daring, you have 5-7 RM40s and a 2 pair of VLA placed in an ITU set up (in a 7.2+2 of course) and resembling STONEHENGE's circle

Are you DRUID enough?

John, did you get this idea one night when you were stoned?

Wasn't it Morrison who said "Stoned....Immaculate"

Out here in the perimeter, there are no stars....

Out here, we is Stoned

Immaculate

Some call it Texas Radio and the Big Beat

Some call it Stoned Immaculate.

When this is on the tt, cdp, or mp, you "IS" aa

The songs of our fathers join with the "Ancient Ones"

Pungent smoke wafts through the warm night

She sits with her flower weeping for joy

The souls gather to feel the heat

While babies cry without "knowing"

The transfer is complete

Does anybody know?

JC is already a druid of a sort.  8)  His listening chair is shrouded with "acoustic treatments," cables are raised on "lifters" and the man looks half his age.  I don't know how he keeps his body so ripped.  I bet he has some secret rituals. Then his whole room is a kind of paean to the ultimate masculine audiophile dream, unchecked by any feminine touch.  It's no wonder why he keeps thinking of ancient phallic symbols for speakers.  Oh, how I envy that room....  :thumb:

And on top of that I generally enjoy "Le Sacre Du Printemps". aa

Now there's a combo:  Morrison and Stravinsky :o

I guess you guys are right. :duh:

For it to be a "true" Stonehenge, we would have to do "stone" cabinets.

Maybe Granite or Limestone.

That would be something else.  Imagine 66" stone multiliths placed around your room :o

For those who want to go the "other way" (into the future) we could have the "Titanium" 2007 Sound Odyssey version

Well, the Super Tower III/SRE are made of synthetic granite.  I am not suggesting that though.  I think the VLAs will present quite enough challenge moving about just as they are :).

Since this thread is already going down a stony path, let me change it's direction a bit and ask the masters for their rock solid opinion on this. In bi amping, if I want to power just the the neos and tweeter of my RM-V60 with a 300B SET amplifier what would be the minimum power needed for moderately loud listening in my well damped 9 X 12 X 21 foot sound room?

At THE Show in January, I beleive the fellow from Atmasphere said the meters were "peaking" at 5-10watts on some very loud passages, (Class A) and we were running the 6.5" woofers too.

Not sure how that would translate to your SET, but they are surprisingly efficient.

Most of the time at reasonable listening levels we were using 2-3 watts.

I think B, ususally suggests 25 - 30 watts for the other speakers, tweeter or .  I haven't heard his suggestion for the RM v60.  Due to their efficiency it should be a little lower

John, the WAVAC 300B SET I am looking at is rated at 10 watts which to me appears frighteningly low.  :?  However I think Brian said the 6 neos had a sensitivity of around 95 and the tweeter nearly 100, so I don't know, it may be close.  :?

Well I do know we have a fellow who ordered a pair of PBS RM40s and had like a 8 watter to run the ribbons and panels, and haven't heard any complaints.

And I know the RMv60 was hitting it pretty hard with low meter readings at CES, so I suspect you should be good.

I also think Woodsyi is running "tubes on top" with his RM40 which are far less efficient than your v60's.

Maybe B, might see this and have comments too.
