Skyland speaker stands
« on: 15 Apr 2007, 10:51 pm »
We have over time been asked for speaker stands for our speakers and or speaker kits. Were to get a center channel stand made to the height you need for a Apex C or a HT2C.

After a look around we contacted Skyland  Manufacturing in Calgary Alberta
http://www.skylanstands.com/index.htm and talked with Noel.We talked for some time and thought we can make some customers very happy with our speakers and matching with the Skyland stands.

Noel sent us a pair and I proceded with a photo layout of the complete assembly (less filling them with sand)

Here is the assembled pair with our RAV1X

Plus our RAW FR on the stands.

The packing is very complete and well thought out.

Flip the stands over and you are ready to fill them with sand with the provided funnel  :thumb:

Here the stands are assembled ready to use.

These photos show the bases and spikes

Al....

Skylan makes some excellent stands...I have a 20" pair. Easy to put together (even for me :?), and they work well. A good match for your speakers...and they sell at a fair price.  :D

Just a follow-up to report that Noel's stands ARE the real deal. You can pay less, and you can pay more, but if you need a stand for your 'monitor' type speakers that do a fine job..and look great doin' it..Skylan is worth a hard look. Two post or four; any height; any platform size. Great value.

Noel builds awesome audio racks also.  The pillars in both of mine are full of baggies filled with playground sand and then spiked to the floor.  Really heavy and inert.

I too contated Noel about having custom 20" stands build for our speakers. Personally, I really like his designs and find them quite attractive as well. For the money, the Skylan Stands are a very good value.
You will have to do some experimentation with filling. Both in material and amount to use but in th eend, you will greatly enjoy the results.
I will say that I did not like them "empty" in my application.
