I want to thank all for the many responses to my orginal post.  Based on your replys and the current Squeezebox Sale ($249.00 for white) I placed an order for one tonight.  Also I was cruising the Slim web site and noticed a thread indicating to use promotion code LIVE365 for an additional $20.00 off.  Sure enough I used the promotion code and the price was reduced to $229.00 including shipping.

Wayne, when I receive it I will be giving you a call to arrange for the analog and digital mods.

Thanks Again,

Ken

I'm in Charlie's camp.  Something out there may be subjectively better, but I haven't heard a digital set-up better than Wayne's top-of-the-line SB and PS.

You did well, Ken.  :thumb:

Charlie,

I look forward to having a couple more beers with you at the lounge at RMAF

Dennis,

The modded SB can receive all internet radio. The part of the mod that removed one of the crystals is no longer done. The very slight changes in sound were not worth losing access to some stations.

Hi Wayne1

Many thanks for your clarification! I am glad to hear that internet radio streaming will not be compromised by your mods. One of the major reasons I hesitated before was losing the superb benefit I now enjoy of listening to internet radio. Looks like there is nothing to stop me now from taking the dive ...  8)

Best Regards
Dennis

BTW, the silver Bybees arrived safe and well. They were superbly packed. I am running them through the usual paces! Thanks.

The main reason I'm sticking with my PTech P1a/P3a combo with the SB3 is the capability of the P1a to incorporate SOCS (Speaker Only Correction System) for my Strata Minis sold by AV123. Many, many people sing the praises of adding SOCS for their speakers. That is why I went for a digital only mod w/ a gold bybee. Now if Wayne would like to throw in the analog mod for free, I'd love to compare the two!
