Hi there, was wondering if anyone know of where I can get some Rubycon Electrolytic capacitor with a value of 100v and 220uf.
Also, what would be a good substitue if there is one.

They have a black gate for $12.95 (polarized), Nichicon for less than $2.  The black gates are supposedly superlative, but I've never done testing to find out whether or not that's true.  Their price is certainly superatively high. 

I think I put some black gates in when I rebuilt my amp, which I have to say sounds much better (I think -- who can tell when the amp was broken for several weeks?), but I also performed a ton of other modifications (better op amps, other caps, diodes, etc.).

The only place that I know of with any kind of selection is Reference Audio Mods... RAM     but, call, don't write. The last time I tried E-mail I never heard back from them

I thought about replacing it with blackgates, but there are four per amp and well, they are not easy to get to.  the one that blew, at least that is manageable, if i were to replace the others, I would have to remove the boards, etc...

So your intent is to replace a specific blown component, rather the attempt to change/upgrade the components, (assuming you want 'symmetry' across channels or rails)? Then you've got to say what specific type of Rubycon it is (ZL?) as each cap manufacturer typically makes a given value, voltage... in multiple versions and sometimes dimensions, intended for different markets/uses. What country you're in might help....

If your intent is to replace a ZL, and you're not willing to order 1000's, and you're in the States, use the nominal equivalent from Nichicon, a HE or UCC, a KZE. Both are in stock at Digikey.

Although these are nominally equivalent in chemistry, ripple, esr, impedance.... one doesn't really know how equivalent they really are, until you measure/try, so it would probably be rational to replace all 4.

You don't say what their application is (ps decoupling? signal coupling, cathode bypass, etc...), so making any suggestion is tenuous. Without knowing the specific application, considering an arbitrary 'bespoke' capacitor simply because its an 'audiophile' component is equivalent to throwing shit up against a wall to see what sticks.

You can replace with Jensen Electrolytic 100uF or 220F/500V or 550V. I did replace to my tube amp and they sound better than Rubycon and Nichicon but cheaper than BGs. Go to ebay and search for rex imp (named Mike) the seller and he is located in Pasadena (CA). Or if you want more cheaper and affordable you should go to Newalk in One and get the IC-Illinois capacitors. I found ICs sound better than Nichicon. Good luck.

When I diagnosed my board, I ended up replacing a lot, because once one cap goes, I think it's entirely possible they're all ready to go.  Plus, replacing one of two (on my system) didn't make sense to me -- even if I got the exact value, the cap is going to be different.
