Hi, i'm in New Zealand and having digested this forum a few times [actually the 1st time] I instinctively knew i'd found my last speakers, so late last year when gathering car parts for shipping i was fortunate to aquire a used pair from Mike Garner ,I was over the moon. Anyway i've had them a few weeks now and I am just blown away, they are everything and more as described by fellow users. I just love that waveguide, the dispersion means no more localized sweet spot "yeh". The dynamics and resolution are divine, the reproduction of the smallest details, the decay and timing are superb. The bass is the best i've heard [and felt] period, the impact is so real you feel it in the solar plexus, there's the speed then the ability to stop on a dime, no overhang here and all of the above at low volumes too. The sum of all this truely gives a feeling of "being there", it's that organic [to me anyway]. By the way this pair has not yet had the tweeter and crossover upgrade let alone the mundorf one ,"holy moly" I can't wait. Bob i've shipped the crossovers and tweeters to you today and emailed the details to you. Congradulations Bob a truely  marvellous thing we have here ,cheers all Brett   :thumb:

Thanks for the kind words.  I'm really glad you like them and that they are doing what you had hoped for.

But you know..."good" or "great," etc. are all subjective terms and depending on the experiences of an individual, how "good" something is...is relative to their previous experiences.

Now don't get me wrong, we've talked and I know you've owned and experienced products from other companies that are well known and highly respected, so I don't question your impression of the Continuum 2.5s.  Having said that, I am honored to have you share your thoughts and impressions with the world.  But...so far your Continuum 2.5s have...

...as far as I'm concerned.  But then, I have an unfair advantage.   I've heard what happens to them after the crossover upgrade.  Do they sell "Depends" down there in Australia?  If they do, you might want to pick up a box before you listen to your Continuums after installing the upgrade...because you're probably going to need them.   If you really like them as much as you've shared above, you're going to be -ing like a kangaroo!

I love your comments!  It really makes me happy to hear how pleased you are with my beloved 2.5's.  Perhaps Bob can make you the official SP Tech ambassador to Australia.

Anyhow.  Cool.  I know you took a risk buying them sight unseen (and heard), and internationally on top of that (It's not like you could easily take them back). I'm glad your so happy with them.

Duh "New Zealand" was right at the very beginning of your post.  Besides, on top of that I already knew the fact of the matter.  Apparently, I saw "Downunder" and that's what stuck in my noggin.  Boy, every day that passes something happens that reminds me my gray matter is aging right along with the rest of me.  Christof was by the shop yesterday and he can testify that my mental processes are slipping.  There were a number of things we were discussing that I couldn't remember the details, names, etc. of.

So please accept my apologies. I didn't mean to insult you.  Depending on the relationship between you guys and the Aussies, that may have been a greater insult than I realize.  Let's just hope I still remember how to build the speakers correctly.  I don't suppose you guys even have kangaroos in New Zealand, do you?    Rest assured, after this I won't be making any wise-cracks about "sheep" either.

Congratulations on bringing some fine  gear into the country Brett.  Well actually I don't know - I have never heard them and maybe they do sound like crap.. .. But I admit these  are  in my top  five speakers I  wish I could demo list.

So what are some of the other  speakers you have played with?  What gear have you got in front  of the speakers?

Yeah, I felt the same way about my Timepieces after I finally got my amp/pre-amp problem corrected (impedance mismatch...who knew?  ).  At any rate, congratulations!

You sure you aren't paraphrasing some of my comments?

I agree with everything you said, with the exception of the bass. 

I thought my Timepieces produced bass as well as any speaker I'd heard until I made the mistake of listening to the Revelations.  Trust me... if you're happy with the Continuums and want them to be the last speakers you buy, avoid the Revelations.  I didn't, and despite the fact that I own two pairs of Timepieces (2.0s and 2.1s), I now have a pair of Revelations on order. 

'Course, a less expensive route would be adding one (or two!) of Bob's new Infra-Wave sub. 

By the way this pair has not yet had the tweeter and crossover upgrade let alone the mundorf one ,"holy moly" I can't wait.

If you like how organic they sound now, wait'll you hear the result of the upgrade!  I honestly didn't believe Bob when he told me the difference it would make, and told him so.  But Bob was a good sport and didn't argue with me, and instead humbly replied, "you might be right."  I received my Timepieces a couple of weeks later, and suffice to say I'm now quite hesitant to question Bob before hearing the results of his labor.

How would you feel  about sending a  PM  regarding the cost of import,  shipping, insurance customs etc?

I've  brought a   couple of  things in  from the States  before ( RWA  sig  30 /  EA  mod  Dac  and even TBI subs)  but never  anything   so big.  What does it add to the cost of  admission?
