« on: 15 Mar 2007, 07:36 pm »
hi everyone,
i wonder if anyone can tell me how to change the firmware for my squeezebox which is running off of slimserver on my Infrant Ready NAS.
i know about the program to change firmware on a basic computer , but not sure how this applies to an NAS server.
thanks

If you can access your NAS from a windows box the firmware selector should work fine assuming you have mapped a drive letter on your windows box to the NAS share.

There was a reply posted on the Infrant forum regarding this that may also be of interest to Infrant ReadyNAS users.

From skywalker -- site admin:

There is an addon
Disable_SlimServer_FW_Check
that forces SlimServer on the ReadyNAS to not try to upgrade your existing SqueezeBox
firmware.

I'm pretty sure this won't work on PC/Mac/linux versions of Slimserver, but there may be a similar plug-in on the slimware site that does the same thing.  FYI.
