I bought a new Melody 300B integrated (SET, 8W) for my 2nd system this weekend on a bit of a whim - importer selling overstock at 20% off, full warranty. After selling my Dared 2A3 (mistake), and giving away the 2A3 that replaced it, I am without an amp for my 2nd system.
Anybody happen to have one of these? I have not seen a review nor heard it. I'm buying it on the strength of the reviews of their other gear and word-of-mouth on the brand. It all looks & sounds to be very high quality. Well, I did have the marvelous SP3 integrated at one time and that piece was something for the $.
6moons said the 2A3 PP integrated was dead silent out of 110dB/W horns. I would not have thought that possible with ANY amp whatsoever not battery-powered.
On a related note I'm wondering what brand of 300s to chase down. WEs are too much coin; TJs, maybe. The EH golds are very reasonable at around $150/pr. Maybe the stock Chinese tubes will be good but I'll still want another pair.
