Does it matter?
«

I was just turning off my system. One of the amps was still on when I turned off the pre and I noticed that as the pre went off the tubes in the amp briefly fluctuated in brightness.
I started to wonder: is there a proper sequence to turn on and off a system that would be best for the equipment. Could I have caused harm to the tubes? Has anybody ever talked about this before in another thread?

There was a thread somewhere I saw that said -turn on amp , pre-amp , cd. Shut down cd,pre-amp,and last amp. Thats also the way I've always done it.Is it right or wrong
don't know,but it works for me !

I think that's the opposite. Especially with a tube preamp, you want to turn the preamp on first and let it stabilize before turning on the power amp.
