I'm not sure if I've posted this in the right area. I have a DVD/CD/SA-CD player that is strictly used as a 2 channel CD/SA-CD player. Video connections are not hooked up. I've gone into the menu system and disengaged the digital outputs. On the front panel of the unit there is a button to disengage the video circuits. This is done of course so that the audio signal is not contaminated by the digital and video circuits when the machine is being used as an audio player only.
Would I be doing any harm if I actually disconnected the video circuit board from the main board internally? It appears to be as easy as removing two ribbon type connectors between the video circuit board and the main board and the power supply connector.
Would having the boards physically disconnected be a more effective bypass than a switch?
