I'll look forward to reading the groups impressions.  Can you hint at any preliminary results?

This is a tricky question to answer  I am his Guinea pig. If it doesn't work out, tough s...t, I'm out of pocket the amp (s) and the parts/shipping. The good part for anyone following after me is that all the thinking and grunt work has been established; the procedure. He's an honest guy who enjoys the chase and the discovery. The bad part is inevitably shipping. I'm actually paying as much for that as the amp, since it will have been sent twice (HK>Hawaii>Hawaii>France). The Trends he did for me was totally reasonable so I'm sure this one will be too when it's sorted out. A lot depends on what parts he uses.
He can't keep everything in stock, being a one-man op. so there's that to factor in. I suggest you wait and hear how this goes and mail him directly when he's totalled it all up. Please wait though! I don't want him thinking about anything else :D
PS I'm not being evasive, we have a buddy system which is kind of special, not a business association. I want this to succeed on all accounts but it's entirely up to him where he takes it.

Hi Shep,

Did you get your unit back yet? Interested to know yours and Michael's impressions.

hello Sasha, No it's not ready yet. He's busy with the Trends kits and this amp is taking time. As you know, there have been "problems". (I'm not going to go to war with the importer again after a rather sharp exchange on his forum regarding quality control) They relate mostly to the tube circuit, which is odd to say the least, and the way attenuation is handled thru the chip/circuit. Take this whole thing out of the equation and you have a super t-amp. Both M. and I want to use the remote and the switching, as well as the tube front end, so he's doing various experiments and solutions. In the middle of this is seems they may pull the amp altogether and replace it with another model! So if and when, I will probably have the only one on the planet that works right and sounds brilliant...talk about unwanted notariety. :o

There is an evaluation of the T_100 recently posted on the Little-Tube website.

I have a feeling that reviewer was pointing a finger at me! the so-called "grey" market amp. Why on earth someone would copy a "cheap" amp is beyond me! There was nothing shabby or wrong about my amp when it reached M. Mardis (from Hong Kong) and I don't give a toss about the warrenty. Despite what was said, the tube section was just plain weird and according to M. unusable without a major rethink, re-build. We elected to get rid of it and concentrate on the other qualities, i.e. make a great sounding Tripath amp with the advantage of a remote. The digital vol. chip is apparently rubbish and will be replaced with something much better. I get rather hot under the collar about this because I started a polite question to him ( the Little Dot guy) on his site about quality control, which degenerated and got us nowhere. I'm being real picky, I know, given the price etc. I've been spoiled by the Trends T-10, got greedy and now impatient for my new amp to get done :duh:
