One of my daily hits is a site called
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/ -it promises one piece of software a day, fully functional, no spyware. The two catches are: (1) it has to be installed that day and (2) no technical support.
Today's software is something called Audio Converter Plus by Abyssmedia software. Here is it's home page:
http://www.abyssmedia.com/audioconverter/ (don't download from there, download from the giveaway page). I haven't tried it yet but it looks of interest. Among other things it decodes FLAC and APE files, but apparently it doesn't rip to FLAC.
