Hantra, I'll be the Johnny come lately.............What McIntosh amp did you buy?

Well about 20 months ago I bought a MC402 and C2200. 

I now have MC501 monoblocks and the C2200. 

I've never had a piece of electronics in my system longer than I've had my C2200.  Of course, I am on my 4th TubeDAC.  I can't go away from non-oversampling, and Scott Nixon just keeps making this thing BETTER. 

I keep trying to get him to build me an UBER DAC, fully balanced, tube regulated power supply, etc.  One day he's going to actually accept the challenge, and I'll be $2-$3g's lighter.

Actually, if you have your system where you really enjoy it, that's the goal!!

Even though I review for a living, I have my one main system that I really
enjoy and it doesn't change now.  I add one component on occasion for
review, but started building a second big system that I plan on doing a lot
more swapping.

That's awesome if you are just digging the music!

I have been mulling going from a Stratos Stereo Extreme to Mono Extremes for over a year now but I just enjoy the sound of my system to such a degree that I have no sense of urgency to change a thing. The system gives me so much pleasure now. One day I'll go to Monos but I'll have to feel much less content about my system than I do now. Yeah, I know it will be a significant improvement but unless I start feeling restless I ain't changing a thing.

Unless I hit the lottery or it turns out I'm the father of Anna Nicole Smith's daughter (which would be the second immaculate conception in history).

Hantra ---- i have to agree with you about the Mac gear ......

although i still think the low power SET tube amps are also great !
