Looking through Audioxsell.com's CES coverage I came across this:

Interesting that several 2.6's went up for sale on a'gon.  Room correction and digital crossover tech is moving very fast and prices really should be dropping.  At the very least it gets a nice cosmetic upgrade appropriate to this price point.

I heard that they were going to release a new one at CES, but that is all I know.  For a tweeker like me, this is no cry no foul news.  However, if I'd dropped $6 on aftermarket mods, I'd be a little upset.

Does anyone know if the new crossover is a second unit entirely, or an option in the new pre-amp/DAC/room correction unit?  From what little I've found so far, I haven't been able to tell.

I think it is a new unit with a different processor.  I think I read this on Empirical's forum.  I'd look there for more 411.
