I need a couple of amplifiers with some headroom. I am not sure if I should go with some vintage Kenwood amps like the m2 or carver amps like tfm35 or m4. I am not sure what route I should go with or for that matter any other amp in that range of wattage I should go with, any suggestions anyone?
I am open minded.

What are you going to be using them for?  Is the reason you want vintage for reasons other than cost?

I am looking into mosfets amps for headroom and low distortion. I useing commercail grade amplifiers now, and now I think it is time to upgrade to a better dynamic sound.

ok i dont know the mentioned amplifiers
but here are some suggestions
-see what you can afford
-see what specs mean much to you ie power-output etc
-see what you like to listen to

I'd look at Rotel and Parasound if you don't want to spend much money. The Carver amps I personally don't care for at all. Both Rotel and Parasound have excellent amplifiers and on the used market are true bargains. I prefer Rotel but Parasound is also very good. Check audiogon.com.  You'll find lots of used hifi gear there and a good bunch of people to deal with. For 500 bucks or less you can have a good amp with 200wpc.

The budget, of course determines your choice, but the Odyssey amps, Coda and Monarchy would be good examples. I wouldn't limit myself to mosfet devices, current delivery and capacitance are what to look for IMO.
