Need Some Christmas Gift Speaker Options...Cheap
« on: 19 Dec 2006, 11:22 pm »
Looking for some holiday deals on 2 channel and HT (5 channel) speakers for relatives a Christmas gifts.  Something affordable ($250-$500) but with solid performance etc...  HT speaker package preferred but will consider 2 channel options.

Thanks

www.av123.com    XL-S  designed by Danny Richie of GR.  219 a pair.

For $49 a pair there is a speaker from BB getting good bang for the buck reviews.

Infinity Primus 150.

That should get you started.

The norh 3.0 series is always a great value in that range.

The last thing on Earth I need is some more small speakers, but I'll probably buy some of those Insignia's at BB, just to play with.  If they're 1/2 as good as the hype, they'll be my slam-dunk recommendation for everyone who wants something nice but "for a hundred bucks or so."  At $40-50 (depending upon the week ), they'll be quite the bargain if they're even tolerable.

If you have someone you really love, I have a pair of ACI Emeralds for $300 + shipping.
They will love you back after getting these bookshelf speakers. :thumb:

Any size or finish requirements?

I'll second the AV123 X-LS.  The Usher S520 is worth looking at too.  I've pointed friends to both of these speakers, and they still rave about them.

If you need something physically smaller, you might want to look at the Gallo spheres.  I think the smallest model comes in under your price target if purchased from a friendly dealer.

Pretty wide open for size and finish.
I'll look at those Ushers.

What the name of the other speakers that look like Gallo spheres? .....Orbs, I think.

Thanks

Deepest discount I may have ever seen.  Wonder how they even got the MSRP.  Nice inexpensive gift though.
